New Method of Reaching Autistics: Instead of being
distracting, Soma’s “Rapid Prompting Method,” as she calls it, seems to
keep the children’s attention focused long enough for them to
communicate. She ignores their erratic movements and wandering eyes,
and focuses instead on the mind locked inside.
Tito was educated by his mother using this method (which she
developed). He is a doorway to the previously locked mystery of
what goes on inside an Autistic person's mind. He tells us
that the biggest misperception people have of autism is
that autistics "don't have any understanding".
