Studio |
הסטודיו |
| Promoting
Women's Creativity in the German Colony |
| It all started with my
lifelong dream of having a studio, my own creative space. My
dream "just happened to" become reality and it turned into something
much bigger, a space for women to develop and enjoy their creativity,
share ideas and take time out for themselves. |
The Studio
|
The Studio is a small, 2-room
apartment in a century-old Greek building, full of character,
designed to
inspire the artist in whoever visits it. The
Creative Room is well equipped with a
potter's wheel,
different types of clay, colors and tools for different activities. The second room, the Inner Sanctum, is
where a different kind of work takes place; it is furnished with a
comfortable couch,
sofa and desk to work at. It is well
suited to small discussion groups and therapy.

What we do ...
|
The Studio opened
last winter and the first workshop, called The Creative Workshop
for Very
Busy Women, works on different aspects of creativity - pottery,
plaster
work, decoupage, beadwork, painting techniques and much more.
Group
members enthusiastically report that they now look at life through the
eyes of
artists; they consider colors, shapes and materials for potential
creations in
almost everything they encounter. The
idea of this group is quite catchy and there is demand for more to
open.
Another group that
recently completed a course was run by Pamela Silver, the
internationally acclaimed watercolour painter, on watercolours. Participants were so enthralled that I am
now looking for another teacher to continue exploring this medium.

| Parparim
Babeten |
Parparim
Babeten
is run by
two yoga teachers who are also doulas. This
workshop consists of weekly meetings with
relaxation exercises,
artwork, guided imagery, discussions and other activities to help and
encourage
the mothers-to-be in their most creative endeavor.
|
| Mishak Bebotz |
Mishak Bebotz is currently offered
for free to
staff and directors of Kol HaIsha, a grassroots feminist centre,
providing
respite from their stressful round-the-clock lives.
Hopefully, this new concept will catch on and
develop as an
incentive for staff of different organizations.
|
| Registration |
Registration is
currently open for three new workshops: two
Creative Workshops for Very Busy Women in
Hebrew, on Sundays
(16:00-18:30 and 19:00-21:30) and Earthworks for English
speakers on
Thursdays (16:00-19:00).

Run Your Own Workshop
|
The Studio is also
available to people who wish to run their own workshops,
providing they
fit in with the spirit of the place. |
